Blog Day 14: Monday 6 April 2020

Yesterday I received an email from Tattslotto telling me that I was a winner, ripper, I thought at least my financial concerns are taken care of - anybody got any advice as to where I can safely invest $21.00!

This afternoon I will be heading around to a local doctor's clinic in an effort to get a flu shot, they are in short supply in these parts.  The clinic told me over the phone that their flu shot program begins at 2.00pm today but as they are not taking any booking I just have to take my chances.  I will check it out, if there is a long queue I will give it a miss, not high on my priorities at the moment.

In my idle musings I am wondering what has happened to grumpy Gretta and her handlers, they have been very very quiet lately.  A prize for the most creative response.

The big supermarkets have today initiated controls on the number of people in their stores at any one time.  This is to assist in ensuring people maintain the regulation distance from each other.  When I was at Woolies last week there was an older lady shouting at people for not keeping their distance.  I think that she might have been one of the "ill at ease" virus or no virus.

Just returned from getting my flu shot.  I arrived at the clinic about 1.30pm and was the last of about a dozen people standing outside the building.  The clinic had set up an initial reception area just outside the front door where they were checking if they had you on your books or not, they had also put out some witches hats showing where people had to stand to maintain the regulation separation distance.  Once inside I checked in with reception and was directed to one of the surgeries, a doctor and a nurse were at the sharp end, so to speak, and within 30 seconds I had been injected and was out of there.  There was one small moment of concern when the doctor said that as I was over 65 they had a 'special' injection for me - I was put at ease when they explained that for my age group the injection was a bit stronger and courtesy of ScoMo it was free.  When I came out of the clinic there was about 30 - 40 people lined up.

So continues another exciting day in Bentleigh East.

Remember to wash your hands!

  1. You write really well, it flows and is interesting. You could be an author. What is the status with that book you were writing?

    P.s. who is gretta?

    1. Gretta is that strange little Danish girl who told us we were all doomed due to global warming or daylight saving or something.
