Blog Day 37: Wednesday 29 April 2020

Does this headline refer to a sometime correspondent to this blog and if so is he keeping 'mum' about his good fortune? The headline below refers to an unnamed male who recently purchased a tattslotto ticket in Narre Warren.

"Man $23m richer after first overseas trip cancelled"

I was pleased to see that the photos in yesterday's blog generated some interest and comments although I am not sure that being compared to a crispy pork knuckle is a compliment or not, although I dare say that there are worse things to be compared to.

I see that over the last 24 hours there were 4 deaths in a NSW nursing home taking the total number of deaths in that nursing home to 11.  Just when you think that this thing is under control it bounces back.

My sister in Burnie has told me that the outbreak in Burnie causing the closure of two hospitals and the isolation of about 5,000 people was caused by one person returning from the cruise on the Ruby Princess.  Still want to remove or reduce the current restrictions on travel and socialising??

It looks like it has stopped raining so might get my walk in before it starts again, might even get some inspiration for the blog.  I might see something exciting like a dog crossing the road or a man walking down the street whistling.

Just back from my walk, beat the rain, didn't see a dog crossing the road or a man walking down the street whistling.  Although, I do have a question.  When I walk and meet someone coming the other way, whilst maintaining a respectable difference, I try and look them in the eye and give them a nod or a smile of some sort of recognition.  I reckon 4 out 5 people either won't look me in the eye or completely ignore my effort to communicate.  About 1 person out of 5 will respond with a nod or something or even actually say hello.  In the words of the late great professor Julius Sumner Miller, "why is it so"?

On that note, cheers for now.

  1. With the change in the weather I have a feeling that iso might be somewhat harder to deal with. By the way - winnings from trivia are on the way.

  2. I would love to say I am the mystery man and that my lost money has been replaced by $23M but the only $23M I have is monopoly money. I'm happy to share that with you at no charge if you like.
