Blog Day 48: Sunday 10 May 2020
With today being Sunday and also Mother's day I have decided to call it a day of rest for this little blogger, so only a couple of bits and pieces for your edification and amusement today.
On my walk today I noticed that traffic was very light, so maybe people aren't visiting their mothers for mother's day or maybe some of them visited their mothers yesterday!
And now a riddle from one of my regular readers and contributors, this is from Leanne
Q: What do you get if you mix alcohol and literature?
A: Tequila Mockingbird
The figures below are a bit contradictory but they are the best I could find, maybe clearer tomorrow. I think the total numbers are OK just the new infections don't add up and some reports are showing an additional two deaths.
Current Virus Day Stats: Day 125
Vic: 1,479 (+10 from previous day) - 18 deaths (increase 0)
Aus: 6,939 +(+12 from previous day) - 97 deaths (increase 0)(some sources showing total number of deaths at 99)
Recovered: 6,140
World 4,023,218
I am treally looking forward to tomorrows news about easing restrictions. But i feel like andrews will drag it out and announce 1 thing will ease in a week or so. I doubt anything will be immediate. I also think he will open outside things first because its winter which will mean less people will go outside anyway

DeleteEasing of restrictions announced, still no cafes or restaurants.
DeleteOur new restrictions which start on Monday 11th. 20 people can attend a funeral, 1 visit a week with no more than 2 visitors to aged care facilities and reopening of parks and reserves to residents within 30 kms of their home for exercise. Schools will reopen in stages beginning May 25th.
ReplyDeleteMay 18th gatherings can increase to 10 (visitors to households capped at 5). Libraries , restaurants allowed to open but only up to 10 people at a time.
From then on numbers slowly increase.
But can you cross the river for your fish and chips?
DeleteSorry for not retyping my dysentery story but it was one of those moments where the artistic qualities were flowing and it seemed to just flow onto the screen. It was humorous bordering bordering on offensive so probably better you didn't see it anyway. I did hit the publish button but I now believe the actual system was down at the time. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteSaturday I went out shopping and I couldn't get a carpark at carrum downs shopping centre. I was in the area and needed a couple of things. After parking and walking for ten minutes to get inside, I was then in a crowd being directed where they wanted to go, not me. I heard one guy say 'this is not doing much for my anxiety levels' and another shopkeeper say 'this is crazy'. Having feared for my life, I quickly made my purchase and ran for the car. Chairman Dan might have wanted people to stay inside for mothers day so they all went out on the saturday in Carrum Downs. Maybe they can't read???? Thank goodness you moved out Clair.
Jobkeeper about to go, restrictions to be eased (except in Vic), economy shattered. Yes 2020 will be one to remember not to mention my trip to Carrum Downs shopping centre.
I am sorry that your dysentery story creative juices have ceased to flow but good to see that you enjoyed your trip to Carrum Downs.
