Blog Day 81: Friday 12 June 2020

As you are aware after a bit of a hiatus the first game of the second round of the footy was played last night.  Collingwood drew with Richmond with both scoring 5 goals 6 for 36 points (sounds like an AFLW score).  Although not terribly interested in the footy I flicked over to watch it on the telly a couple of times.  Of course the game was being played in an empty MCG which was incredibly strange in itself but the broadcast had fake crowd noises which made it even stranger.  I must admit for the very short periods of time that I watched it the crowd noises sounded very authentic, although there was no swearing or booing of the umpires.

One of my many erudite readers (my sister Lyn) has pointed out that one of the benefits of the corona virus is that the number of reported flu cases so far this year has been incredibly small.  I suppose isolation to stop the spread of one virus works on other viruses, well done corona virus.

Some of you may recall that I had blood taken for a blood test last week, well with out going into too much detail and to the surprise (even amazement) of some my liver and kidneys are in fine fettle.  Cheers!

Victoria reported and increase of 4 infections over the last 24 hours, Australia wide there was only an increase of 2.  I am assuming this difference is due to the reclassification of previous deaths or some double counting somewhere.

Australia wide there are 18 people with the virus in hospital and 2 in ICU.

Tasmania is reporting only one active case and no new cases in the last 27 days, I think that they reckon that they have got it beaten, well done the good folk of Tassie.

Corona Virus Daily Stats: Day 158

Vic: 1,703 infected (+4 from previous day) - 19 deaths (increase 0)
Aus: 7,287 infected +2 from previous day) - 102 deaths (increase 0)
Recovered: 6,761
World: 7,492,793 infected - 420,832 deaths (increase of 4,569 from previous day)
