Blog Day 84: Monday 15 June 2020

I doubt that DD (Dangerous Dan) will too much concerned with the virus issues today given the recent disclosures on the branch stacking, power plays and corruption within the ALP.  These disclosures were made last night on 60 minutes and detailed in today's Age and to say that they are explosive is an understatement.  The funniest thing to come out of this so far is DD saying on the radio this morning that he wasn't aware of any branch stacking in the ALP........ What the???? 

I reckon there might be a bit more to report on the ALP travails in the days to come.  Can hardly wait.

The rankings in the deaths per million have remained the same as last week with poor little Belgium (a TGW reference) still in the lead with the UK coming second.  Spain and New Zealand reported no further deaths in the last week.  The USA had nearly 5,000 deaths which I think is a good result for them.  The death rates are declining in the countries that were hit hard early with the corona virus but it now has moved onto Brazil and possibly India.  Although not on my chart Mexico has reported a total of nearly 17,000 deaths which puts them up there with some of the other badly hit countries.

Daily stats are as below and the increases are from last Saturday.  We could ask DD to explain the latest increases in the Victorian infection rates but I am sure that he has other more important things on his mind at the moment.  No new deaths in Victoria or Australia and the number hospitalized has decreased by one and number in ICU has increased by one, but are still very low by international standards.  Another school has been closed in Melbourne with two children from the same family testing positive.  One of the new infections in Victoria is a person who attended the rally last week, so that means two infections of people who attended the rally, lets hope that is all.

World: 7,872,500 infected - 432,158 deaths (increase of 6,843 from Saturday)

Blog day 3: Thursday 26 March 2020 Its funny to think that this time last year I was a couple of days away from heading off to Europe for 5 weeks, my how things have changed.  On that trip the only medical issues I needed to concern myself with was twisting an ankle on a cobblestone or recovering from a hangover, wouldn't want to be there now. I am wondering where the extinction rebellion people have got to, they seem to gone very quiet, maybe they are lining up in the Centrelink queues to take money from a government they despise from a society for which they have no respect. Blog Day 522 - Sunday 05 Sept 2021 - Day 31 of Covid Lockdown V6.0 Extended   There was an interesting piece in The Australian newspaper yesterday with the headline "Catholic Health Plea to Protect Jab Objectors".  In part the article said, and I quote "Indeed Catholic teaching holds that no one should be forced to have a vaccine or be discriminated for exercising a conscientious objection". I would be interested which part of the bible discusses covid vaccinations or indeed vaccinations generally. I also like the story of the Sydney family who snuck into Victoria to visit family or friends and then snuck back into NSW using the backroads, naturally without any of the required permits or exemptions.  Everything was going hunky dory until the children of the family started boasting about their trip out of town to their mates at school.  SPRUNG! Blog Day 589 - Tuesday 16 November 2021 - Day 18 of Covid Normal The Andrews government have back pedalled a little with their new draconian pandemic legislation.  The fine for individuals breaching the new pandemic rules has been reduced from $92,000 to $45,000 for individuals.  That is a relief, far better to be fined $45,000 than $92,000, I wonder if you could enter into a payment plan?   There is still a lot of opposition to the legislation from the most unlikely of bedfellows, including the Human Rights Commission, the Melbourne legal profession, the usual suspects of various flag waving ratbag groups and anti vaxxers as well as regular members of the public.
