Blog Day 101: Thursday 02 July 2020

Crikey, I have been off the air with the blog for three days and the world has gone to hell in a handbasket.
  • Record breaking infections recorded in Victoria
  • Suburbs declared as hot zones and then place in isolation by postcode
  • A judicial enquiry to look into the corona virus hotel quarantine stuff ups.
  • 1,000 Commonwealth government personnel arrived in the state - not from the ADF though, who do they think they are kidding.
  • People in hot zones refusing to be tested.
  • DD trying to have international flights diverted to other states - NSW saying "no way jose".
  • All other states refusing to admit people travelling from isolation postcodes and not particularly welcoming of anybody from Victoria.
  • Rumours that DNA is being collected from swabs to be added to law enforcement data bases.

Apparently there are rumours going around the northern and northwestern suburbs that the guvernmint is collecting the used corona virus swabs and the DNA from those swabs is being added to the law enforcement DNA data bases.  Apparently that is the reason some people are refusing to be swabbed, idiots!  This sort of rumour has the whiff of social media about it, idiots again!

A really funny thing has happened.  You may recall a few days ago DD told the federal government that Victoria didn't want or need 1,000 ADF personnel.  Well, shortly after that DD accepted the federal government offer of assistance of 1,000 Commonwealth personnel.  More pandering to the faceless socialists running this state government.

It would appear that the usual suspects are topping the tables in number of deaths with the USA still well in the lead with Brazil coming in second.  The US recorded 8,500 deaths in the last 10 days and Brazil a tad over 10,000.  India recorded 4,000 for the same period.  The UK doesn't appear to have things quite under control just yet, and if you saw the recent photos of Bournemouth beach you would understand why.  The figures below are a bit skewed because the period since my last spreadsheet is 10 days instead of the usual 7.  I have added Mexico to the list as there appears to be a bit of virus activity occurring there.

The figures below show that the majority of the increased infections for the period since last Sunday occurred in Victoria.  Victoria has reported 77 new cases in the last 24 hours from various sources.  Tracing has shown that a large number of the new infections were as a result of the hotel security guard fiasco.  For the last 24 hours NSW has reported 8 new cases, all from overseas travelers in quarantine.
