Blog Day 144 - Saturday 15 August 2020

Just another reminder that today is VP day (Victory in the Pacific day) and is the 75th anniversary of the the Japanese surrender in 1945 thus ending WW2.

I haven't had time yet to absorb the outcome of the Ruby Princess enquiry in NSW but initial reaction is that it was a massive cock up by the NSW health department.  Will have to have a closer look.

The results of the enquiry into Victoria's hotel fiasco is also eagerly anticipated when and if it is completed.

A young lad came up to me in the street today and asked if I could explain a solar eclipse to him, I said "no son" and kept on walking.

Now on to more immediate matters.  The good news continues on the virus front with 303 new infections recorded in Victoria in the last 24 hours.  There were four deaths reported in the same period, one female and two males in their 80's and one female in her 90's for a total of 293 deaths in Victoria.
