Blog Day 152 - Sunday 23 August 2020

Dull, grey and dreary here today & then there is the weather........

Three weeks in and three weeks to go!

I've got a bit on my plate today so the blog will just be a quick update on the daily stats. 

Victoria has reported 208 new infections in the last 24 hours, this is an increase from the 182 and 179 reported for the previous two days.  Although back above 200 probably not a reason for too much concern unless the pattern continues.  Seventeen deaths reported which is also higher than the last few days, we will need to see what happens over the next week or so.

There are 585 Victorians in hospital with the virus and of these 43 are in ICU and 21 are on respirators. These numbers are lower than previously so that should be good news.

The world figures are remaining stubbornly high with daily fluctuations not setting any meaningful pattern.

Remember: to stay indoors between 8.00pm and 5.00am, stay safe & stay strong, respect the 5km limits, don't try & get a haircut, drink your coffee at home, don't dither at the supermarket checkout, don't get Jim's Mowing in to cut your grass, get some virus approved exercise, shop at Harvey Norman for good service, be honest, if in doubt wear a mask and a face shield, remember the fallen, get plenty of sleep, laugh at my jokes, have a virtual beer with a Vietnam vet, if you have to ask - the answer is no, remain vigilant, act responsibly and be kind.
