Blog Day 173 - 14 September 2020

A shetland pony walks into a bar and asks for a beer, the barkeeper looks at him and says "can you speak up a bit you are a little hoarse".

I have decided that if I was working for the public service I would have accumulated enough overtime hours to earn a RDO.  So I am taking tomorrow off as an RDO.  It will be a nice day so not sure if I will go to the beach or the park or just have a lazy day around home.  Maybe have a dozen mates around for a barbie and get on the beers. Been pretty busy lately so there are also some chores to catch up on.  Anyway don't panic I will be back, bigger, bolder, smarter and cleverer on Wednesday.

Day one today of the 14 day extension of the stage 4 lockdown.  It is getting more and more difficult to keep track of where we are up to, what we are allowed to do, when does the next stage kick in and what does that mean.

Some more "freedom" protests over the weekend with the police arresting some and fining others.  Apparently the Saturday protest was a bit of fizzer, it was raining so the poor dears protesting didn't want to get wet or maybe their Mums wouldn't let them out in the rain.  Two hundred or so turned up for Sunday's protest at the Victoria markets, and caused some disturbance but were quickly dealt with by the police.  At least the police horses are paying for their keep, I might attend the next protest and take my sugar bag along.

The latest craze seems to be to make a pest of yourself to the police at a protest or road checkpoint, film your arrest and post it to Face Book whilst bleating loudly about police violence and abuse of human rights  and achieve your 15 seconds of fame amongst your equally stupid Face Book chums.

Victoria reported 35 new infections in the last 24 hours, down from 41 the day before.  We had 6 deaths bringing the state total to 729.  There are 122 Victorians in hospital, up from 116 the day before, and 12 in ICU with 7 on ventilators.

The rolling 14 day average is as below;

13/09: Metro 61, Regional 4, State Total 65
14/09: Metro 54, Regional 4, State Total 58

The worldwide figures aren't demonstrating any meaningful decline only the daily and weekly fluctuations.

The last lot of tables were getting a bit unwieldy so started new ones today.

And now the stage 4 lockdown 2 week extension remembers.

Remember: to follow the legal instructions of a police officer.

Comments

  1. I think you should add, don't throw things at the police and if you are feeling a bit off don't punch car windows. Did you know that an average police dog's nose is directly in line with most people's groin? Perhaps the boys and girls in black should take the doggies out with them. If I heard "come here or I'll let the dog loose," I'd come PDF
