Blog Day 345 - Monday 08 March 2021

I have decided that meditation is better than sitting around doing nothing.

No blog yesterday as I attended a sixth birthday party at a place called Inflatable World in the middle of an industrial estate in South Geelong.  It was in an area where I would not have been at all comfortable driving around of a night and was even a little nervous in broad daylight.  At some stage I thought that my GPS was going to take me to a vacant block of land where where I was going to be assaulted by some Irish thugs with baseball bats.

Anyway not to be, the party was fun and the sausage rolls, party pies and birthday cake were delicious even if I had to push some six year olds out of the way to get to them.  Fancy that little girl dobbing me into her mother, can't kids handle a hefty push in the back these days.

Another six year old birthday party next weekend, I will have to make my tactics to get to the sausage rolls less obvious.  I should be able to outsmart a group of six year olds.

Once again gentle reader I have been neglecting my blog duties having been out for lunch today.  I met with a friend (and regular reader of the blog) at a pub in Mordialloc and being a public holiday it was very busy, great to see people out and about.

I will provide an update on the local figures and some selected worldwide figures tomorrow.  I do notice that the UK figures are continuing to drop but that they are still in a 9 week lockdown.  Interesting that the lockdown is having a dramatic effect in the UK.

I just had a look at the French figures to see if their lockdown was working, it is a bit hard to tell given they have a significant range of figures on a day to day basis, however for some reason every Tuesday for the last couple of months the French have reported extraordinarily low figures.  Lets say that the French daily infections are currently around the 20,000 mark every Tuesday they report about 4,000 new infections.  As the late Julius Sumner Miller used to say "why is it so"?

On that note cheerio.....
