Blog Day 453 - Monday 28 June 2021 - Day 04 of Current Rules

A little bit of local news, I was driving home from dinner with some friends on Saturday night and got pulled over at a breath testing station.  I had consumed two standard glasses of white wine in about 2 and a half hours and wasn't particularly concerned.  A nice polite young police officer (of the female variety) tested me and told me I had a reading but that it was under the limit.

After checking my licence they told me to be on my way.  I asked what the reading was only to be told that they weren't allowed to tell me that but that I was well under the limit.

The good news continues, the proper premier is back today after recovering from his injuries caused by his "fall" down the stairs.  You have to admire him, he is sticking to this story despite all the evidence to the contrary.  Anyway with the premier back god is in his heaven and all is right with the world, in his eyes anyway.

Just had my ABS Census 2021 Field Manager Training Carton turn up, so I had better wrap the blog up and work out what I have to do with it all.

Not much right in the world in NSW at then moment.  Eighteen new local infections reported in the last 24 hours and 30 the day before.  Greater Sydney is a few days into its 14 day lockdown, Darwin is in lockdown until Friday and borders are slamming shut all around the country.

Unusually Victoria seems to be the least affected by the current covid crisis with no local infections in the last 24 hours.  I am sure that now the proper premier is back we will manage to stuff things up again, this will give the proper premier the chance to face the state in his North Face jacket and his serious face and tell us this is his Churchillian moment.

As the worldwide figures are demonstrating their usual post weekend vagueness I won't try and draw many conclusions from them apart from saying that India's figures continue to decline, the UK figures continue to increase and everybody else's are anybody's guess.
