Now here is an unusual news story, there are reports that over the last couple of days somebody has broken into two mausoleums at a cemetery in the western suburbs and stolen body parts from two of the deceased residing there.  The police are a little cautious about providing two much information as they don't know who or even more chilling, what, they are dealing with.

Apparently both both bodies are reasonably recent interments, as in the last six or seven months and at least one of the bodies had the head removed.

There is no known connection between the two deceased and the police report that it would have taken some effort to break into the mausoleums.

Just think of this, the mausoleums are difficult to break into and I daresay it would need something sharp to cut a head of, so somebody has to go equipped to carry out this grisly task.  This is not a random event or a crime of convenience.  Somebody has been determined to do this, for what purpose you may ask? It will be interesting when we get the answer to this.

The police report that the crooks have a head start on them, too soon?????

I managed to pick up a box of five RATs yesterday from a local pharmacy.  As a poor ol pensioner I am allocated five RATs a month for free.  Anybody want to buy some RATs, I am sure that we can do a deal, no price gouging here.

Vaccinations continue to creep along but at more than 92% of the 12+ population nationally I think that we are still going OK.  As at 01/02 over 7.9 million booster shots have been administered, when the figures for the last 24 hours are added that should take the national figure for the boosters over 8 million.

The daily infection numbers for Victoria are increasing again with 14,553 new infection reported in the last 24 hours with 11,311 reported the day before and 10,053 the day before that.  Hopefully this increase is as a result of variations in reporting and not part of a pattern.

The number of new infections reported is split pretty evenly between PCR tests and RATs.

Victorian hospitalisations, ICU and ventilator numbers are continuing to gradually decline with 768 patients currently in hospital with the virus, 31 of those in ICU and 31 on ventilators.

Unfortunately the Victorian daily death numbers are not declining in line with the decline in hospitalisations with 25 reported deaths in the last 24 hours and 35 the day before.  These higher death numbers could also be as a result of under reporting over the weekend.

NSW reported 27 deaths in the last 24 hours and 30 the day before, Qld reported 10 and 16 deaths in the same period.
