Blog Day 701 - Friday 11 March 2022 - Day 14 Even More Covid Nearly Normaller

I thought that I had better let you all know, as I know that you will be concerned, that despite my close encounter with the dreaded virus on Tuesday that so far all is well.  So far not showing any symptoms of anything nasty and a RAT this morning was negative.

I can hear sighs of relief all over the country.

Not much to report today, the Warnie saga continues with the arrival of his body in Australia, by private jet, not much concern with saving the planet there.

The war in Ukraine continues with people dying due to the fighting but also of exposure in a bitter winter.  People are dying trying to cross the borders seeking safety in the neighbouring countries.  The latest round of peace talks between the foreign ministers of both countries have collapsed.  The Russians have offered safe haven corridors for people fleeing the country however these corridors lead into Russian territory, how many Ukrainians are  going to take advantage of that.

Only a quick blog today as I have to head outdoors and practice putting up my new tent and make sure all the parts are there.  It is not a good idea to check these things when one is away up the bush somewhere.

Usual tables are below.  Nothing of significance to report, daily new infections are continuing, Victoria remaining fairly stable around the 6,000 to 7,000 mark and NSW creeping back up again to 14,000 today and 16,000 in the last 24 hours.

Nationally and in Victoria hospitalisation numbers are gradually declining, with 185 covid patients in hospital in Victoria, 27 in ICU and 3 on ventilators.

Death numbers nationally and in Victoria are variable from day to day but appear to be declining.

    1. Tent went up ok and no missing parts, although it took longer the get back in the bag than set it up. Off to Dr Dan's for supplies of refreshment for the coming week.
