Blog Day 712 - Tuesday 22 March 2022 - Day 25 Even More Covid Nearly Normaller
Momentous news today, I'm getting married........ha ha, only kidding. The real momentous news is that the blog is going weekly, most likely to be produced on a Tuesday or Wednesday each week. Although the covid virus is rolling along there is less and less happening of a significant nature that requires immediate reporting, therefore as things stand a weekly update should keep us all informed. Furthermore, as life gets back to normal the demands on my valuable time keep getting greater and greater and some days it is difficult for me to find time for the blog on a daily basis.
Be assured though, that if anything of major consequence takes place either with covid or otherwise I will publish a special edition providing my particular (some may say peculiar) view and opinion on the matter.
As a special treat I have extracted some international figures, presented in two tables to be posted as soon as I work them out. The first is "Total Cases per Million of Population" by country and the second is "Total Deaths Per Million of Population" country. For the sake of clarity I have removed countries with a population of less than 100,000 as they can tend to skew the results due to their low population and I have only gone as far as Australia on each table.
I have produced some spreadsheet to try and make some connection between the countries with high "Total Cases per Million" and the countries with high "Total Deaths per Million" and so far the any connection is evading me. I think the guys at the CSIRO will have to take a break from playing solitaire on their super computer and give me a few hours on it so that I can crunch some numbers on it.
For example Australia comes in at country number 58 in total cases per million and 126 in total deaths per million of population.
Peru which is country number one in deaths per million is so far behind Australia in cases per million it doesn't even appear on my spreadsheet.
Conversely Iceland is number one country in cases per million of population is number 120 in deaths per million of population.
In the top ten of each table Georgia is the only country to appear in each at number 6 in cases per million and 7 in deaths per million.
Now my head is hurting so I might have to take some medicine, and it is 45 seconds past 5.00pm so I am now allowed to have some hurting head medicine mixed with a little tonic, lime and ice.
I will have another go at this Friday and will post the spreadsheets as well.
